Well, I bought a GS

Thank you all for the input. I took into consideration everything said. In the end, seat height was my most important criteria. Having owned the 2010 1200GS previously, and ridden the new one a few...

Thanks much!

Lots of good info. Cranking preload raises seat height and makes a firmer ride. I wanted lower seat height because my leg isn't what it used to be and 2 up amplifies stops and slow speed handling. At...

Really?

Oh great. Something else to think about. But did you ever scrape centerstand? There was still a lot of ground clearance after lowered unless you went more than 1" lower. I could heel my standard GS...

Wow-great info and discussion

Thanks all! For those who have ridden both, are you comparing 2 bikes with DESA or different versions. Older non DESA were known to be firmer.

So if they have the same spring rate, it would...

I respectfully disagree but appreciate the input

I looked hard at the RS, but, according to cycle-ergos website there is considerable more forward pitch. It's a great site. I have owned several different sport tour tour bikes and found all of them...

Sure love the look of that new Ducati scrambler. Close but not as aesthetically beautiful as my old Xcountry 650, but still good looking. 75hp adds to the looks too!

Narrower handlebars for 1200GSLC?
