Interesting, thanks for feedback. I saw that they switched to chain driven cams, but I'm not aware of reasons why. I definitely don't like added complications, as I try to do all maintenance myself....

I would say at 2 grand if it's in decent shape you can hardly go wrong. Good bike to have in VT. Mid/northern VT provides perfect roads for the 919.

I'm curious about exhaust stink too. I haven't experienced it, but lots of bikes have high pipes, I'm not sure why the 919 has such a problem. Are the pipes significantly shorter?
