Got up early and went after the brake calipers. Wanted to really clean them, inspect the brake pads up close, and lube the brake caliper slide point pins.

Got the air box back on... THAT was a PITA!
Just need to put the gas tank back on and test fire the engine.
Still need to burp the cooling system, but I'm confident the cooling...

I figured that trusting 15 year old hoses is not a wise move.

Where oh where is that thermostat?

Having some fun now! Need to get to the thermostat housing to repair a small coolent leak on my new-to-me 2000 VFR800.
The thermostat is conveniently (convenient for no one) located underneath...

Coolent Leak Verified

Put the pressure tester on the system this morning to locate the coolent leak. It's official, coolent leak is at the thermostat. Next; pull the tank/airbox/throttle body... fun stuff :huh

I would suggest a 2000 or 2001. The 1998 and 1999 had the charging circuit issue and some cold weather starting issue too.
The older 94-97 are carbureted, of course, and may be in need of a cleaning...

Well, my joy was premature...:huh Seems the CA DMV did a typo on my Title, the engine number xxxxx58 was typed in the Title as xxxx59, D'Oh! So, now I'm waiting (again) for my "corrected" CA DMV...
