Absolutely agree. I could easily do it myself. Multiiple tack welds would limit the heat. That shaft is steel...99% certain anyway.

I went from the Thunderbike slipons to the Zard Cross and love it! The Thunderibke exhaust did sound better though...but not much. I could feel the weight loss immediately and it really cleaned it up.

Stock, the bike isn't that impressive. As soon as you get rid of the airbox, throw on a more open exhaust and rejet/remap...it becomes awesome. You won't regret it.

My '06 is the most reliable bike I've ever had. Never had any sort of electrical issues, or any issues for that matter. I wouldn't let the few electrical posts keep you from getting one.
