This'll drive the safety police nuts. Bearings showed no play, but were notchy. I popped the seals, flushed with brake cleaner and air, regreased.

It's a holiday here and I have nearly 1000 miles...

When I swapped, I also replaced the seals with a better fitting...

Perfect. My XR has had the fix for twelve years with no seepage. I have a clutch cover with a 5/8" hole that I shipped to CA and lent to a guy who did the Baja 1000.
