Love mine too, just got the recall letter today, (I'm the third owner) registered as the new owner last fall when I got the fuel pump/flange recall taken care of.

14k miles?

Holy cow, 14k in 10 years? My 2005 has 67,000 and it's only that low because I've only had it for a little over two years. I put 400 to 500 miles a week on mine just in my commute...

I ride the hell outta my r1200gs, and even though it's mostly 500 miles per week in commuting miles, it's with full luggage (and mostly full) and I weigh 260 naked. I'm not sure why your tires went...

I carry a couple liters, but generally just carry a Katadyne Vario water filter and filter all my water. Works so good you can drink water out of a hoof print!

I was sent the solid wheel bolt replacement pack by BMW dealer, and without checking, put them into my wire wheels. When I torqued the first one, I stripped the first 1 1/2 threads from the flange....

66,000 mile fluid change, plugs, and overall inspection on my 05 GS.

Right upper plug was only finger tight! Also, ignoring everyone's advice, I learned a lesson in stick coil damage by breaking...

Broken flanges and threaded holes

While BMW may be claiming that over tightening mounted wheels, etc. is the cause of cracked flanges, it has been my experience as both a repair guy and machinist that cracks extending out radially...

This was a detective event, now I get it! There are easier ways to get that stuck SOB out though.
