After several trail side flats / tube replacements, my DR rims look like crap. Without extreme caution, it's hard to keep from scratching the rims with the tire irons. Pretty rims will look worse...

There isn't any spring tension on the arm, it swings freely until it's connected to the clutch cable.

Be sure to clean the threads on the shock body....

Be sure to clean the threads on the shock body. They're aluminum and many guys have galled them, backing off the lock rings. Once unlocked, the top ring should turn freely by hand.
