Went for a short trip over the weekend (200miles) but needed to take alot of kit with me, so went to put the bike into luggage mode...

the main reason for not wanting to put it in top box/pannier/etc is because for the shorter off road trips i do (portugal for example where we stay in a B&B and go on day trips) we take water, wallet...

what gs did you buy? if a 1200gsa, you may find there is a cut out on the left of the petrol tank (if you are standing in front of the bike looking at it)...
