I run Pilot Road 3's on my SM610 at 38 front and rear with plenty of "feel." Less than that and the wear gets really hinky. 25/28 at the track.

Pre-2010 is the 450-based engine, so you'll never blow up the bottom end. Keep the valves adjusted (easy and not often) and the air filter clean and you're pretty much good to go.

Yeah I checked it when I did the cam chain. Totally clean. The ignition sump screen, on the other hand, has a little bit of crap from the reluctor in it all the time.
