Sounds like you want a V strom. They aren't dirt bikes though. When I had my klr it wasn't good off-road, but I could force it through a trail if needed. I can't force my V-strom through a trail too...

To be honest that motor wouldn't even be a good fit in my opinion. The klx suspension is marginal at best compared to a true motocross or woods bike, and the bike itself is roughly 60lbs heavier....
