The bars are mounted via rubber spacers/bushings through the top triples. You can blow out those bushings and the bars can be crooked when everything is straight. Check there, and order aluminum...

Put the spring in a vice or pliers, zip-tye the spring while compressed, install the peg, pin and spring, cut the zip-tye. Works every time.

If I understand it correctly you had to remove it for the old Recluse Z-Start pro clutch too, and plenty of people did that without issue. That's probably why the hard part comes without one.

If it's a 950 it's probably the carb inlet connections. Each one has 3 o rings that get distorted with time and need replacing. Had to change mine last season.

The axel should be just inboard of the lower axel clamp when properly installed. There is a procedure listed in the manual on how to set the forks and axel after disassembly that should fix any...
