Open up the switch housing on the handlebar and clean out the contacts. Same thing happened to me on another bike after a long trip with multiple days in the rain.

That is true, it's one huge airfield and the runways are completely open for cars / bikes. Speed limit is technically 25 mph, but practicing on a bike is fine.

The weight doesn't really bother me, even on long days. I also bought a Neotec for my wife in size XS and she doesn't seem to have trouble with the weight after a day of riding either.

If only we could all be so lucky to not have to ride in traffic and deal with congestion. Until then, a topcase wins for lane splitting. That doesn't mean I haven't split with my side cases though....
