I used gas(petrol) last time I cleaned my pod filter and it worked fine, though I let it air dry for 24hrs in warm weather rather than an air hose. I guess dedicated foam air filter cleaner is best...

I think it's a bit too much of a step down if you're going to be touring. 250 - 400 would be better. Having said all that I've had 125s and enjoyed them, just don't be in a hurry.
