No trials bike that I have ever ridden is "hard hitting" off idle. It defeats the purpose. You need to be able to roll on the throttle without breaking traction. At sea level the 280 will be pretty...

I read your review, and looked up the site and such. Pretty impressive, and I'd buy one, if I had the money. I'm hoping to ride the Nationals here in AZ, and hoping someone brings one with. The...

I run old bald tires most of the time. When I do occasionally throw on a new tire it is for a comp I know will benefit from it, like Ute Cup. Otherwise, riding with limited traction is good practice....

I think it would be lots of fun, but probably not really like a trials bike. I had a 250exc 2 stroke KTM that I geared into the basement. It was a real hoot on trail, and was definitely more capable...

Redwings are soft enough soles to ride trials in, but the stepped heal is a little annoying. I ride to work every day in them though. Not the greatest protection, but abrasion resistant at least.

Yes, they fit narrow feet. At least mine.

I wear Redwing work boots and Vasques otherwise, because I don't slop around in them. I don't know that the Garne are quite that good, but I find them to...

I would rank them as true to size, maybe a bit long. I have 13.25 or so feet, and the Garne 13's fit great.

I have used mine for Dual sport. But I mostly ride standing, and the trials soles are too soft for standing on the peg for day after day.

Also +1 on the not enough protection in a proper crash.

I ran a similar helmet for quite awhile. I found the overall lack of venting to be a problem, and eventually bought a more purpose built helmet. Sight lines and protection should be fine though.

The kids bikes are obnoxious.
The big bore bikes (290, 300, 321 etc.) aren't any louder, and they can be run at even lower RPM, though whether this effects true decibels or only a perception...
