Tire Chains for tight clearances....
I've been running CABLE "chain" on my rear wheel on the hacked T-Dub w/ Fireston 185/14" WInterforce snow tire.
If you zip-tie the ends of cable sticking out thru the adjusters nothign hits...

Well, the whole sidecar thing has been a "learning experience" for SURE.
Not sorry I got the little T-Dub kitted out the way it is, tho (naturally) if it was a "do over" somethings woud be done...

Power/narrow ratio trans....
I think the TW200 is a pretty good solo machine except for a couple things:
Front tire doesn't grip on sandy roads in turns (Easy "fix". Mount a Dunlop 606.)

Service more often when off-pavement
I have over 2,000 miles on my T-Dub hack now....
All neccessarily low-speed, and nearly all, off-pavement.
Air cleaner and oil/filter changes need to be done much sooner than the fatory handbook...

Mud....(& cable tire chain....)
Got out delivering pacakges & mail thru some nasty mud.
While the cable chain is not as aggressive as actual CHAIN cross-bars, there is significant improvement in the gooey stuff over no chains....

There are plenty of oil coolers and spin-on filter bases, but I have not been able to find any specific info. on HOW TO adapt the the trhee bolthole oil cover plate for inlet and outlet fittings....

The hack is "in the way" of the little round oil window in the R.side of the crankcase, so I have to use a mirror to make sure the oil level is up where it should be.

Got my T-Dub hack!
Jay & Dauntless did a fine job.
Handling & braking are great, and the new LL front end is super.
I got out on the paved road where the ice is smooth and you can see pavement and ran it up to 45,...

JAWA 350 twin suitability for sidecar?
A neighbor has and old JAWA 350 twin with a frozen engine and a fairly well-enigineered hack.
I know there were a fair number of JAWA twins with Velorex sidecars at one time.

Mine has a narrow, comfortable band collar, great armor on elbows, is pretty wind-proof and has lots of pockets and ventilations zips for warmer weather.

THe Bike Bandit guy (Dave) told me it woudl be 10mm taller, but I am not sure whether he was talkign merely SIZE (80 stock to 90 on 606....), or if the larger knobs were taken into account....

Directional tires (arrow on sidewall)

A few tires have an arrow or similar caution that they are "directional" (like chevron tractor tires) and will load up/not "clean out" if turned back wards.
