Less than 200km before Wadi Halfa we rode past compounds with hundreds of people, trucks, pick-up vans next to the road with makeshift eateries. For the most there were no houses or shacks around....

The DR is a strong truck, but the gearbox is not something that excites me. I have had to fix the Dakar's under trees in godforsaken places.Doing surgery like that in the bushes is not my idea of fun...

That's what we did on our last trip to Namibia. But also because we only did dirt and killing knobby tyres going there is a waste.
But on this 2 year trip it's going to be saddle time all the time....
