Not sure how similar the air box is to the old ninja 250 (07 or older), but I found that taking the rear wheel and shock off made it so the easiest way to get it out. Straight out the back.

To the best of my knowledge, the only difference is the nikasil plated cylinder in the the XT motor. I believe the ttr motor has an iron liner. Either motor is a drop in replacement for the other....

I pulled the finest slow wheelie I have ever made. Popped it up to the balance point, and kept it there with the tiniest little burps of throttle.
