Given those choices I would use the alluminum mounts for less possibility of vibrations, however I have no experience with either mount so one may be as good as the other.

I'd just use the whole carb. It will work just fine, but to answer your question, yes the internals from one will work in the other.

The bulb I used (H4 R1) was made to separate from the heat sink - so I removed the heat sink, installed the bulb, (and wire clip) then reattached the heat sink. If I recall, it was about a 1/4 turn...
