Training wheel trike or sidecar for winter?

I recently bought a 98 Ural rig that I'm having a great time with. I've put more miles on a bike this fall than any fall in the past. Part of the reason is knowing I'm not so likely to go down if...

Scotts setup is nice but I've ridden a Bandit and find it's riding position too far forward and its pegs too high. The price is nice though.

Why is the northwest the hack capital

It seems that the Northwest area of the US is where I see the most hack activity. I mean DMC is there, Ural is there, and many of the bikes I see for sale are in that area. Why is this?

This is a very helpful thread. Unfortunately I still can't decide whether to go with a new Ural or search for a good pre-made unit for half the cost. A lot of good ideas here though.

Were you able to adjust the setup better this weekend? I'm on the verge of buying a new Ural unless you can show me a cheap rig can work.

How much do you have into your rig?

I've been looking at newer Urals and the price seems to be a lot to me for what I would consider to be my secondary bike. I'm wondering how much money you guys have into your rigs?

How likely would I be to find a decent used sidecar rig for $6,000 or less? I'm thinking something based on a Japanese standard less than 10 years old with a well setup sidecar. I could wait 6...

I wouldn't say what you are experiencing is normal. My 98 Ural is very neutral handling. When I brake while turning left it doesn't throw me into the turn harder. I'm also a newbie to sidecars.

Did people actually loose their bikes or was it just banks that got screwed? Was the Kaw/Yamaha dealer in Schaumburg involved? I almost bought from them in 2009.
