Ride it first. It's a great bike for the money, but it's a cheap bike. Coming from an FJR you will find the engine underpowered and the suspension mushy. Just my 2 cents based on my rides.

I wear SIDI On-Road Gortex boots. They have shin protection, and ankle protection. They are great to walk in. I wouldn't compare them to Motorcross boots, but they are better then hiking boots by far.
