I would say the "easy" routes are noob friendly (if you are on a sub-350lb bike) and the "hard" routes are intermediate friendly with a few optional hero sections. Bump each of those difficulty...

Just turn the tire/ wheel upright and push down on the tire to make it oval, then rotate the wheel 90* through the wide part of the oval and pull it out.

As with any of the items you listed, people buy them for the fear of damage/ failure if they do not use them. The tank bolts are probably the only thing on your list that could break just riding down...

I found that the 2 piece plastic drill bit cases (like a roto hammer bit or large drill bit would come in when purchased) are plenty durable enough for the job. They aren't water tight though.
