Testing is not easy. You need and expensive specialized tester.
From my research...
Carry a spare as they can fail anytime..
If you are burning points.. replace it.

My wire did not have the sheath at the clip.

The new set will have the protective cover. It was an old crappy left over set just to get it...

a couple of observations.

You mentioned that he light was alive when you pulled the clutch in the top gears. This is a curious response to the gen lite.. the connection??
I would check that connection and clean and replace...

I wonder about the stress points on the rear drive.. Exhausts need to be caffinated..

It is a show bike for sure for smooth surfaces.

The coils I bought are 6 volt aluminium clad and the body contact was critical due to the notches in the holders designed to bite the body.. so I figured wrong..and I stand corrected..

I have follwed from the start.

Just a note.. the coils might be better pointed aft,,, wet weather may affect performance. The coil bodies have to have perfect contact with the frame and holders.. meaning where they are clamped...

I would be suspicious of the speedo.. and the difference with the green tac.. It is a detail to research.
