The 69s were actually the fastest I own a 74 k5 top end 55mph 5k on the clock pretty mucn stock. Recommend you replace the oem rectifer with one from Radio shack and the battery with a Werker 6volt 5...

points are definately old school you have to set them adjust them and on occasion replace them and they fail gradually over time. CDI no maintenance fewer places to lose the juice and more juice...

the cdi system is superior to the old points coil system but no system is perfect. Sometimes when the cdi fails it does so all at once where as the old points system crude as they are fail over time...

a 67 or 68 Honda ct90. These bikes have a top end of 50 to 55MPH . The one you have has the dual range (8 spped) tranny they will go damn near any where. there is a yahoo ct90 group that I suggest...
