Solder the 3 places on port first and tabs after if necessary. Mine worked without soldering tabs though. Those tabs are tiny and fragile.

I used a center punch first then used a #4 spot drill to keep things centered.

Take it apart and see if you can fix it yourself before spending the cash for Garmin to do it. Unit is already out of warranty so you have nothing to lose by trying.
