My 2010 Mutley is always 5 or 6 mph faster than my gps. It's been said many times Ducati does this on purpose, maybe all manufacturers do.

Sounds similar to the fuel pump controller going belly up. Easy to check by bypassing the controller and connecting directly to the battery.
