Every manufacturer has problems

Thing is we only hear the complaints. Probably worth less the 5% of the bikes sold by a KTM.

No Bentley

This car is a Blastolene Special. The motor is from a M47 Patton Tank. Custom built 1600hp 3000ft lbs of torque, all below 3000 rpm, twin turbo. Must eat tires like a KTM!

I live in Alaska and bought a bike in Florida. I did not pay any tax to Florida for the purchase. I had the bike licensed and registered in Alaska before I picked it up.

Don't take a Harley to Mexico, you will regret it.

Mexico is a poor country, the roads that are covered with pavement are ok, most roads and places that you would want to go to are dirt roads. ...

depends on where you ride.

Desert open spaces the 500 would be best. Tight woods rocks steeps, the kind of stuff you'll find in The Great North West 350 would be better.

travel and ground clearance.

I would think it would be hard to know what is going on with the forks without seeing what is inside.
You could look at some oem parts finder site to find out...

consider

That is impressive, but the 1190 is looking at 65ish at 3500 - 10,000 rpm

But still the bigger you go the harder it will be to deal with no matter the power/ weight / torque ratios.

oil change

When was the last oil change?
When / if my bike sounds like that or the light flickers i first check the oil and tp it of if needed. If the oil level is fine I would change the oil.

They are not sure when they will be shipped from KTM. Winter is rolling in and I'm heading to a beach. I set up a Pick-up date for April 20 when I get back to Alaska.
