That's the problem, its the stock rmz rotor which is smaller in diameter and seems to have a smaller contact patch. I'm wondering if the howl is a symptom of why it doesnt brake as well as i feel it...

No the leads are fine, otherwise it wouldn't run at all. It'll start on a cold engine and run until the tank runs dry. But as soon as I shut it off and try to restart it within, say about 15-20...
