Oil Filter spring
I just recently traded my DRZ for a 97 KLX300.
When I started to change the oil, I found a spring in the oil filter compartment, just laying there. I don't see any indication in the service manual...

If you got new parts, did you get the old rod out and the new one in without taking...

R90/6 Feltring blues
In the process of replacing the thrust bering in my 74 R90/6 I have gotten stuck due to the "Feltring." I don't see any way to get that thing past the rubber seal in the clutch housing.

I was only using the R4 (5W-40) for the engine...
I was only using the R4 (5W-40) for the engine oil.
The haynes manual suggests 90W for the gearbox, driveshaft and Rear bevel drive, which I haven't touched.
Do modern "Race Oils" not do as well...

Hep me - R90/6
Just came into possesion of a '74 90/6.
Suddennly the clutch makes a horrific noise and doesn't work.
(The gearbox seems fine.)
Could it be I used the wrong oil to top up?
I usually use Casrtol...

I recently bought my K5.
Previous, previous owner had done quite a few mods including rejetting and removing the snorkel. (Plus the fmf q2 exhaust.)
It starts well with no choke on a warm day....
