Many thanks, boxermoose. I found a Doc able to see me this afternoon at the Texas Orthopedic Hospital. He's also listed as part of the Fondren Group, so good to have that recommendation.

I picked up a 2" diameter rod case at Cabelas on sale for $8.00. Another option I thought of about 20 minutes after I ordered is simple PVC tubing with caps. Probably would have been even cheaper....

I had all of those on my final list as well, and ended up going with the Apex2XT. Setup/takedown is a breeze (my 7 yr old nephew figured it out on his own once I got him started on orientation).

That's exactly where I plan on putting mine - either rigging up a pocket that attaches high on the shoulder strap, or in the pocket on the reservoir pouch on the back. Haven't decided yet.
