Some time previously I was trying to figure out which had the black painted covers and which didn't. Then my brain started to hurt !
My '82 R100 came with the black covers as has my '91 R100GS.

I think some people have used a Harley 3 ohm coil to replace the stock BMW item. Might be worth looking into that as they are much cheaper than the Dyna equivalent (I believe).

I had the original Euro spec bars and hated them: too low and too narrow (I really hate narrow bars). I replaced them with some generic wider bars which were an improvement but still a tad too low...

It turned out to be a ground wire alright but in my case it was the ground wire for the flasher unit that was bad. I redone this connection and all is good in the world of NTX ! :clap

I would imagine everything should swap over easy enough. Regarding the /5 variants, the swing arm was the difference between the swb and lwb models so the frame would be the irrelevant.

I removed the hand guards from mine again as they did not fit well. I may try another type at a later time. The universal UFO items just didn't look right.

I bought nearly all my bits from Gutsi Bits UK. Stein Deinse is also another source in Germany. You can buy good used spares from Pete at Reboot Guzzi based in France.
