Cheap comfy seat

lay a sheepskin over the seat. We did 10,000 miles in Australia on two xt550's (planks for seats) and were comfy. Also makes a great camping pillow.

I had to remind the dealer that I was waiting for a reply but finally I got one asking me what I expected...I replied that I would like my bike to be returned to the condition it was in before I left...

I've written to the dealer and ktm uk reminding them that the problem occured while the bike was in their care so I don't feel I should have to pay to fix it. I'll post again when they reply.

As I said I can bolt up the tanks and the bike will operate but with the lower rear part sticking out , not as it should be. My concern is I have removed and refitted the tanks a number of times...

After about 48 hours I removed the strap and pipe and with difficulty refitted the tanks. Stll sticking out bottom rear as before so no cure yet. I've emailed the dealer (with a copy to KTM UK)...

Tank left on overnight and released this morning,,,it imediatly sprung out to it's distorted shape again!
Dealer has now asked me to strap it up again and leave for 48 hours. We'll see how that goes.

So.. the dealer suggested I pull the tank ears in with a strap and leave it overnight....that's what they would do. I've used a ratchet strap protecting the tank with rags etc. How will it be...

KTM UK have now asked me to get back in touch...

KTM UK have now asked me to get back in touch with the dealer so that they can investigate. This means another day off work to go there and return....but I feel it surely is their job to put it right...

Iv'e used vaccum scottoilers on all my chain drive bikes since 1986. Easy to fit, reliable and vastly extends chain and sprocket life. Just got one off ebay for 18 and fitted it in less than an hour...

Off with the pipe and after cleaning with a wire brush I found a fracture about two thirds rounnd the pipe along the first weld between manifold and first bend - so just in time.

front exhaust pipe hole

A lot of popping and banging on the way home on my 2004 adventure. I've got a small hole near one of the nuts which holds the front exhaust pipe in to the head. Has anyone had a similar thing happen....

Yes I get the 'ert ert' and slipping / catching feeling and it does dissappear when motor is warm. It happens despite daily use. I tend to ride at least 7 miles min journey, often much more.

re front end shake.

I had this and found my front rim was out about 1 to 2 mm. Corrected by careful ajustment of spokes ( tiny bit at a time ) whhich cured the problem. Only do this if you are confident with rim...
