In my experience those are generally not accurate...

In my experience those are generally not accurate enough for 12V battery checks...check yours against a known good meter, and the one you have is most likely off, & most likely high...

I know a guy in PA who did that on a 904/270 carb motor Scram; he had no temp issues with it.

Shaved a bit of weight, too.

The above said, he stayed on the pavement.

I've ridden both & would not hesitate to to go CB5X; all it really needed for me was a better seat & pegs.

The KLR? Well...lets just say it would need a whole lot more before I could be happy with...
