Being a modern tire and a radial, you have to run the pressures up a bit from what it says under the seat (36f, 40r seems to work) so I don't think they ride any better, but seem to be more secure...

Have an 07 GSAdv and bought a Yamaha FJR for a long distance reliable bike. GSAdv is a great bike to ride, but it's not reliable enough for long trips. I ride the R100 around here in the mts.
