I drove a 30 roadster for 25 years, mostly here in the mountains. It was great fun on a warm day and the only mod I did was a period correct overdrive. The mechanical brakes can be adjusted to be adequate even on our 10,000' passes, as you'll only use second gear up or down anyway.
