I was going the right direction with the first post.
I figured the ninja motor would be heavier than the XR motor with all the extra control goodies and no place to hang the crap. Thus the extra weight of the ninja motor and parts would offset the power gains. And the XR still doesn't have a rear subframe to hang your paniers on.
