The old Cowboys would have trounced an inferior team like the Panthers and they damn sure wouldn't have been doing much celebrating afterwards. This is your new-age, under achieving version of America's Team who I suspect will prance into the new Mike High stadium next week and get spanked by a pretty good defense.
On a different matter who thinks Shanahan will end up in Dallas? Or how about Washington?
There was word out of Colorado on Monday that a Redskins corporate jet had landed at a small airport near the Broncos' practice facility, which, it just so happens, is not far from the home of former Denver coach Mike Shanahan.
Naturally this led to all kinds of speculation, given the focus this week on the tenure of Redskins Coach Jim Zorn following the team's 1-2 start that included Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions.
As it turns out, the plane was indeed in Colorado but, according to Redskins spokesman Zack Bolno, it was not being used for Redskins business -- and had nothing to do with Shanahan.
Several companies use the plane for business purposes, Bolno said, which is why it was in Colorado on Sunday. "It wasn't there for the Redskins," he said.
That's about all we know at this point. But with the heat increasing on Zorn and the Redskins, there figure to be a lot of rumors and reports in the weeks ahead.
