Ecuador is consistently in the Top Ten of the "Most Corrupt Nations" list. How do I know this? From a U.S. Consulate member who was visiting me in an Ecuadorian jail last month. I'd keep looking around. Chile is very nice but not sure about the cost per day aspect.
