Are you using the stock wheels ?? Did you have to trim anything to get them to fit and run without rubbing ?? Since you rode that long distance to and from AZ they must work and handle great on the road ..

Yes, stock wheels.. the tires are actually rear tires, but fit on the wider front rim of the X.
I had mt 21's before the shinko's. They were fine, but they were more aggressive of a knobby. They were fine off road, but if you had to ride a bit on pavement, they weren't as steady. The shinko's handle fine off or on road.. i pump them up to about 30# for long paved rides, & run them about 10# off road. the sidewalls are pretty stiff, & i don't run a lot of weight, so they do ok.

The mt 21's rubbed just a wee bit on the inside of the forks.. not enough to trim them or anything, but they would touch now & then. No touching at all with the shinko's or kenda's.

The grand canyon last month..
