After much struggle, I have figured out how to embed an MP3 player within a post here:

HereBeTygers - Techno by Me

You'll need to download and host the player.swf on your own website and link to your own hosted audio files.

This is the embed code - copy and paste it somewhere else to read it; the dark blue on gray for HTML representation is impossible to see:

HTML Code:
LEAD-IN-TEXT:<object width='500' height='22' id='player1' name='player1'> <param name="movie" value="http://MYWEBSITE.COM/player.swf"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="true"><param name="flashvars" value="soundFile=http://MYWEBSITE.COM/YOURSONGHERE.MP3"><embed id='player1' name='player1' src="http://MYWEBSITE.COM/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="22" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" flashvars="soundFile=http://MYWEBSITE.COM/YOURSONGHERE.MP3"/></embed></object>
:TRAILING TEXT ON NEW LINE
There are two strings to look for and replace:

MYWEBSITE.COM/player.swf - this is where you put your copy of the MP3 player software.

MYWEBSITE.COM/YOURSONGHERE.MP3 - this is where your music is.

Each string appears twice in the embed code - because IE and Firefox/Safari/everyone else has to do embedding differently - this tries to meet everyone's needs.
