In Australia, South Africa, the Americas and NZ an ADV bike is a go anywhere, (well as far as you can) bike.
In Europe an Adventure Bike is a bike that can do most any tarmac or cobble stones on back roads between B&B and pubs that are more than 20 minutes away from your residence and has a beak.
Any bloody bike would do but at the moment it has to have a beak and look like you could go to Africa.
So the Honda is probably right up their ally. (Paved of course)
Many reviewers bon't even bother trying them on the dirt and use sports or touring bike criteria to rate them.
This is why the DL650 was given so much cred back in 2005. It works well on twisty mountain roads and was comfortable enough for two up between B&B's. Dirt performance wasn't even considered.
