I wish manufactures would build bikes exactly like I want….Daymn.
These two come close, even closer if they could be combined.
I loved both my VFR’s, gear driven cams and my Vtec. I Just sold my Vtec ‘cause shoulder surgery pretty much ruled out long distance runs on much of anything without a sit-up-and-beg riding style.
The Crosstour appears ok from a function perspective for me but I really don’t need a bike with the power or size of that 1200, even for cross country runs. My VFR, 800cc was more than enough to run all over the country fully loaded.
That leaves the Crossrunner. It is the proper size, but I do like a shaft on my touring bikes, daymn.
I learned a long time ago not to rule out a bike based on my first impressions. More than once I have changed my mind and warmed up to the design and ended up with the bike and loved it. I can think of three such designs in the last decade, the BMW GS, the Vtec VFR and the BMW RT. I Hated them all at first, I ended up with all three and enjoyed them all.
