Geoff,

The ball, mount, and all that stuff is solid. The problem is the GPS sometimes bounces out of the holder. I use conventional rubber bands, I will get some of those hair ones. I also thought about one of those rubber bracelets that were in fashion a couple years ago.

I find the GPS decides to bounce out of it's cradle at the worst moment, when negotiating more difficult terrain.
