Below is a pic of the cradle I use, it is made my Ram. The security screw only holds on a rubber grommet that snaps into the ring on the pic. Others use a beefy rubber band to hold the GPS in. That tells me I am not the only one who has had this issue.
I will get better rubber bands for future use as mine must bee too wimpy. I may add some Velcro also.
Perhaps I will just roll a condom over the whole thing, then it will be waterproof, retained very well, and on hell of a conversation piece.
