You are exactly right. They don't. I am between tall and average, and on my motorcycle once in the saddle, the need for tall becomes apparent. I'm 5'6" I should not be a 'tall'. Of course don't get me started on the arm length or how women's gear sizes.
I recently saw a suit that was labeled with a size 6. My 14 year old daughter wears size 3 pants, is nearly my height and weighs about 120 pounds. She couldn't have gotten that suit on two years ago. Six my hiney.
Custom is awesome.
