Then I started it one day and the light was on and I was like what the hell.
Pushed the start button again and the light went off. Turns out the starter switch was cutting the light as it is supposed to while starting to save juice but the button was not springing back far enough to engage the switch again.
Simple thing but can cause grief.
I've had the same issue, I thought the bulb was out, ran all sorts of tests, then replaced it and nothing then went to start it and it clicked on for a second. Have to hit the button a few times for the light to stay on. I read somewhere that you can bypass the relay in the starter button but I haven't opened up that can of worms just yet. Maybe when I replace my bars and have to remove all the controls.
