A Liquified future is in the cards for all the boxer engines. It's just getting too hard for BMW to meet stricter Euro emission regs with air/oil cooling. They need the more consistent temp control that a coolant based engine has.Actually,I think I remember the article as stating a hybrid air/liquid cooled cylinder with a full liquid cooled head. I saw a magazine at Hastings that pegged the engine change for 2013-14
