johnnieboy & ej-92606 Below is the seam when installed, there is no overlap , look at 1st pic the entire surface is where the velcro "hooks" ( this is the side that will be against the factory grip

then look at pic # 2 and you see the hooks.

when you wrap them the results look like this...
