Thats as far East as we could go...the paper companys don't really want us out there tearing up their roads so they have manned or electronic checkpoints and gates which deter you from getting on the real riding up north, so we have to make due with what we have.
We head back to Greenville and Greenville junction, then hop on the Dyer and Brocha roads which take us back into Moxie Pond and then back to the Forks. We ride the blacktop North to Jackman, and arrive just as the skies open up. We figure its a good time to find a dry place to spend the night.
We check in, get badly needed showers, then walk down the street for a decent meal and a coupla beers. Humble digs, but I like it that way. We spend some time reconnoitering for tomorrows ride.
Attean Ponds outside Jackman
Nice powerline shots eh?
Next morning we ride south a bit on 201, and then get on the Spencer Road which runs West into the North Maine Woods for a long long way. This is by far the most remote section we have ridden on so far, and made sure we had plenty of fuel before heading in. We didn't see a single soul the entire time.
