But I can also appreciate how much a an aesthetic downgrade a clear tank, or a colour plastic tank would be. After all the original tank is the only painted piece on the bike. (aside from the beak). Would it not be possible to have the tank professionally painted to match factory paint? Or are we not there yet with technology when it comes to painting plastics?
The tanks on my Speed Triple and Sprint are both plastic. That said, I am going to assume the Safari tanks are more like the tanks on my Husky and XR and if so, I very much doubt they can be painted - even stickers eventually fall off due to gas leaching through the plastic.
