The "saw" on the back of the SP8 is more for decoration than anything else. I certainly wouldn't want to attempt to use it as a saw. Do like the SP8 for general camp use. If you want to saw carry one of these next to your SP8: http://www.pocketchainsaw.com/
The one I have comes in a pouch (about 2" x 2") with paracord loops instead of T-handles. I think they called it the military version.
